ABSOLUT BLANK is a global creative movement, in which ABSOLUT appears as a catalyst for contemporary leading-edge creativity, in collaboration with a new generation of artists. By turning the iconic bottle shape into a blank canvas, Absolut Blank introduces a global creative movement, with the aim of inspiring artists.

The ABSOLUT BLANK SA Launch event, took place in Downtown Johannesburg on 3 March 2012. It was part of Absolut's global "It all starts with an Absolut Blank" campaign. At the event, new Absolut artworks, created in conjunction with Mzwandile Buthelezi, Faith 47, Imiso Ceramics and myself were  unveiled.

Title: The 'Dambe' Boxer Media: Acrylic on wood
Size: 1000 x 700 mm

Mypiece draws its inspiration from Dambe, also known as Kokawa, which is aform of boxing associated with the Hausa people of West Africa. The energy andvibrant colour of the 1974 legendary bout between Mohammed Ali and GeorgeForeman in Zaire (Now the DRC) also lent its inspiration to my ‘character based’illustration/painting.
